Pastor Jeremy Belter has the privilege of serving as the pastor for Shepherd's Candelas Campus. Pastor Jeremy has served Shepherd since August 2018, first as their church planting pastor and now the full-time pastor for the Candelas campus after their grand opening in October 2019.
Jeremy wanted to be a pastor from little on, even playing church in his living room, with a garbage can as a pulpit and Golden Books as hymnals. He did his Seminary internship year (vicar year) at Holy Word Lutheran in Austin, TX. It's there he met his best friend and the love of his life, Kelsey. The two were married in 2009. Jeremy graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2008 with a Masters in Divinity and was assigned as a dormitory supervisor and instructor at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI.
After completing three years there, he accepted a call to serve at Atonement Lutheran Church in Plano, TX where he was for seven years. During his time there, he spearheaded the launch of new early childhood ministries for the congregation, a growing youth group, and the construction of a brand new sanctuary. Jeremy is originally from Wisconsin, although he's also lived in Michigan and was born in Midland, TX. His parents and family still live in the Appleton, WI area today.
Jeremy and Kelsey are blessed with two children, Ellie and Kieran. Kelsey works as an Emergency Medicine doctor in the Denver area. The family enjoys all the many outdoor activities Colorado has to offer and especially likes hiking, exploring, mountains, and trying local breweries. Jeremy is also an avid football & basketball fan, both locally and nationally. Jeremy is also active in the local Arvada community, serving on the Arvada Festivals Commission, and a couple of committees for the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. His biggest love, though, is still preaching on Sundays and teaching - especially kids and teenagers.
The Belters are thankful to be part of this young & growing congregation and hope you'll stop by to say hi and stay to be refreshed by the Word of Jesus.
